San Francisco tight end Vernon Davis, like Triple H and the Authority, does what's best for business. Or as Davis refers to himself, "my brand". Apparently his brand incudes holding out for more money while missing training camp and receiving lofty fines. Also on his checklist is starring in a (ostensibly) low-budget action-comedy called Captain Torpedo. Yes, Vernon Davis is now an actor.
According to the information so far, a production company called French Moustache, which uploads videos on the absurdist comedy website Funny or Die, which probably means it will be low-budget and intentionally cheesy (via Bleacher Report):
"If you can't forgive Davis for his brief holdout after watching him take a bullet from a Canadian with a Russian-German accent who wears an American bomber jacket, well, your life path is a cold, humorless walk indeed."
And don't expect this to be a one-off project. Nathaniel Weiss, who plays Torpedo Boy, spent a lot of time chatting with Davis on set (via TMZ):
"Weiss says the NFL star also told him he was excited about the project because he hoped it would lead to similar roles in the future."
