Tony Romo Back Surgery: Dallas QB Still Missing Practices, Ready For Regular Season

After having back surgery for the second time, Tony Romo is learning when to say when. The veteran QB is not going anywhere and the Dallas Cowboys are right behind him, so they trust him to put in as much work as he needs to without re-injuring himself. The goal, obviously, is to be ready for the regular season, and to do that you have to make it there.

Romo is unquestionably the starter for Dallas as long as he's healthy. So his coaches trust him to listen to his body when he's feeling pain (via ESPN):

"He hasn't had any setback, but the biggest thing that we talk to Tony about and really all of our players about is honest feedback."

Owner Jerry Jones trusts Romo as well (via Dallas News):

"I think he is using his judgment. I heard a term called 'feel heavy.' It's not short pain or the inability to perform. Judgment says if you're not going to have to do it that day, you should let off of it a little bit."
