Kenny Lofton Wrote A Song For R&B Hitmaker Ruben Studdard Before Face Off With Cleveland Indians' Nick Swisher

Former Cleveland Indians franchise great Kenny Lofton is apparently a part-time songwriter. Did you know that the undercover R&B hitmaker co-wrote American Idol singer Ruben Studdard's 2003 track "What If"? He isn't all wine and roses, however, as he apparently had a face-off with current Indians first baseman Nick Swisher after dissing last year's Indians team.

Lofton caused a stir in January when he slammed his former team's performance last year, causing Nick Swisher to confront him at an Indians event (via NBC Sports):

"... Following Lofton's comments that the 2013 Indians weren't truly a playoff team because the Wild Card game didn't really count in his mind, several Indians players were unhappy. Since then, Castrovince reports, Indians players have been cold to Lofton, largely ignoring him during his visit to spring training in Goodyear recently."

Maybe he should write the Indians an apology song, because he has already proven that he has the chops, according to TMZ:

"The former Cleveland Indians superstar (and likely future Hall of Famer) did some serious writing work on a song called, 'What If' from his 2003 album Soulful."
