After Joining Lakers, Ex-Memphis Grizzlies Ed Davis Too Big For Fly Lambo?

Brand new Lakers big man Ed Davis is too big to drive a fly Lambo, according to TMZ. He may not be able to fit into the tiny luxury sports car, but he hopes to fit into a struggling Lakers organization that desperately wants to rebuild the franchise into the legendary powerhouse it once was. The talented forward/center turned down a contract extension from the Memphis Grizzlies to come to the land of milk and honey. Movies stars. Swimming pools. Joining the Lakers is a gamble these days, but with a new coach and several new acquisitions, the fabled LA franchise has a chance to write a new chapter in their history.

Despite a relatively modest deal of $2 million for 2 years, Davis is looking for more playing time and a chance to make a difference on his team (via ESPN):

"'No regrets at all,' Davis said during his introductory news conference. 'Everything happens for a reason. I'm not trying to sound cliché, but just looking forward to this opportunity here with this great franchise and just being able to contribute every night.'"

With plenty of skills and confidence, Davis says that he'll be a great fit for the Lakers, and he hopes to contribute to their return to prominence in the league (via LA Times):

"'It's a great organization, a franchise with a lot of history here. I think it's an opportunity where I can play and help this team win. I can play both positions, the four and the five... I bring athleticism, defend, run the floor, block shots, rebound -- all the little things."

In fact, the only thing Ed Davis has going against him right now is that his size prevents him from getting into a Lamborghini (via TMZ):

"'If I could fit in it, I would,' Davis said ... 'but it's too small man!'"
