Why New Armored Ben Affleck Batsuit Won’t Save ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ [TEASER] [TRAILER] [VIDEO]

The first teaser for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was revealed at Comic-Con 2014, and despite the film's awful title, it looks awesome. Ben Afflecks armored Batsuit is a thing of beauty, straight out of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. Henry Cavill's Superman looks equally as impressive, as he readies for battle with his eyes glowing red. However, what should be any fanboy's wet dream is soured by the sins of Superman's past. 2013's Man of Steel may have set the stage for Bats Vs Supes, but at what cost. The first film ruined the most iconic superhero ever created, by turning him into a killer, (yes we know he has killed on rare occasion in the comics, its not the same) and worse, a coward. It is hard to get excited about Batman V Superman, Justice League, or any upcoming film in the DC shared universe that is based on such a shaky get foundation.

The armored Batsuit (not pictured above) looks amazing. No question about it. Anyone who tells otherwise has never read Frank Miller's epic Bat-Tale, The Dark Knight Returns. But,it isn't the clothes that make the hero, it the heart. No matter what inspirations this new film pulls from the comics, it doesn't undo the damage done by Man of Steel.

Tent poles are important. They hold everything up. However, Man of Steel fell short on so many levels. No longer is Superman the shining beacon of light that guides and inspires all other heroes. Here we have a coward, who hides from the world, until outed by Zod. One who let his father die a horrible death, that he could of stopped had it not been for fear. One who is all to happy to sit back and watch the world burn, then risk own comfort. Sure he would help put out an oil rig fire if he happen to be near it, but can't honestly say that there weren't any global disaster's that could've used a Superman. He waited 33-years to become a hero, meanwhile, Batman has already retired. A word that has breed a Batman, certainly could have used a Superman.

Superman is the DC universe. Mess him up and the whole thing goes to hell. You can't build an empire on that foundation, no matter how awesome the new teaser looks.

NOTE* At the time this article was published, most of the videos of the Comic-Con teaser were not available. If anyone does have a working link, please feel free to post it in comments section.
