It came as some surprise last week when fans who had been eagerly awaiting a news update for months that Britain's Got Talent producer, Simon Cowell, was engaged and getting married to baby mama girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, but instead were treated to court room evidence that plainly suggested that that the X-Factor founder was gay. The surly music mogul has since denied all allegations that he is a homosexual though his reps, which reminded people that in this day and age it seemed silly to ask questions about people sexuality--especially if they fathered a child via a marriage an friendship annihilating affair.
At this point if you still think Simon Cowel is gay there isn't much the loving father and boyfriend can do to convince you otherwise, other than have his reps treat you like you are an uncultured moron for bringing it up in the first place.
After it was reported that Si was labeled a homosexual during a trial involving former X-Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos, apparently, people started calling Cowell's people looking for a comment.
The reply sent from his attorneys definitely clarified the situation, while at the same time making you feel like a complete ass for wanting the answer in the first place (via E! News):
"Simon was referred to during the trial without forewarning, resulting in widespread media coverage of untrue claims regarding his private life.
"In 2014 the question of whether someone is or is not gay is antiquated. (As it happens he isn't, though if he were, he would simply have said so).
"However, the issue was the false suggestion made by Mr. Varey that Simon--who is renowned for his honesty and candidness--had thus not been truthful in the public arena and this is what we have been obliged to clarify."
See there..they only even bothered answering your silly question because it suggested that he was dishonest as well as gay.
