"Principal Owner" of WWE was arrested (kayfabe) on Monday Night RAW this week in Miami. Just as character heel Damien Sandow assaulted Miami fans dressed as LeBron James, Stephanie McMahon assaulted Daniel Bryan's wife Brie Bella, who quit the company (kayfabe) last month. Brie bought a ticket and sat in the front row, and when Stephanie came out to confront Bella during twin sister Nikki's 4-on-1 handicap match. Steph then slapped Brie in the face. Later that night, she was arrested by Miami detectives and taken from the building.
Stephanie McMahon spoke to WWE ring announcer Michael Cole following the incident and had little patience for his questioning her about the incident (via Cage Side Seats):
"First of all, Michael, as you know I've been advised to not speak about this case because the pending legal action. So since you know that, I'm surprised, actually I'm shocked, that you would take this forum to ask me that question, knowing that I can't speak on it. We've discussed it. Move on."
This could lead to an interesting subplot highlighting a rift between Triple H and McMahon (via Cage Side Seats):
"Sources say the McMahon family is extremely upset and their attorneys are looking into the best course of action. A source close to Triple H told WWE.com his wife is 'an emotional wreck' and 'juggling anger, embarrassment, humiliation and self-pity.'"
Triple H, at one point, was headed out the door to bail Stephanie out when he decided to stay and announce Brock Lesnar as John Cena's opponent at SummerSlam. Could that lead to tension between the power couple?
The couple is supposedly very close off-screen, but it could be interesting to see them engage in a storyline where they are fighting and questioning each other's motives.
