Ramon Buchanan Joins Redskins Safety Ryan Clark In Marijuana Crusade?

Ex Miami Hurricanes Linebacker Ramon Buchanan is a huge fan of pot, as evidenced by a recent video taken by TMZ. It seems that he is joining veteran Washington Redskins safety Ryan Clark in a crusade advocating marijuana use. Many athletes support the de-criminalization of marijuana under federal and state law as well as the various wellness and banned substance policies which prohibit the use of marijuana. But players say it is a preferred natural alternative to the glut of pain and psych meds shoved down their throats by doctors. Of course, Clark implies that he is clean and only speaking for his colleagues. Buchanan, however, seems to be walking to a Wailers concert on a cloud of purple haze.

Check out this clip from TMZ showing Ramon Buchanan wax philosophical about the life-saving, world-changing possibilities of weed (via TMZ):

"Buchanan -- who was a big NFL prodigy before injuries in '12 and '13 killed his draft stock -- was at Bootsy Bellows in L.A. this week when our photog asked how he felt about recreational pot being legal in WA.

"Let's just put it this way... he supports it..."

For Clark, it's just about sensible self-medication. Too often players become addicted to powerful prescription pain killers (via Classicalite):

"'I know guys on my team who smoke,' Clark said. 'A lot of it is stress relief. A lot of it is pain and medication. Guys feel like, 'If I can do this, it keeps me away from maybe Vicodin, it keeps me away from pain prescription drugs and things that guys get addicted to.' Guys look at this as a more natural way to heal themselves, to stress relieve and also to medicate themselves for pain. Guys are still going to do it.'"
