Richard Sherman Crowd Fund Statue After Celebrity Softball Game And Favorite Movie?

Seattle corner Richard Sherman is beloved by Seahawks fans. Their adulation for his defensive accolades against 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree has led to a crowd funding movement to immortalize the moment in statue. Their "Build The Tip" movement is gaining steam, but lest you think it's undue idol worship for a single player, don't worry. The entire team is supposed to be incorporated into the piece. Meanwhile, Sherman recently gathered up some of his closest celebrity friends and athletes for a charity softball game. He also revealed his favorite movie of the year, and you probably can't guess what it was.

Sherman clearly has some sway in the elite ranks of pro athletes, so it's no surprise that he could put together a charity softball game with some of the biggest names in sports for charity (via ESPN):

"'I respect these guys tremendously and it's humbling, it's not something you can put into words,' Sherman said before the game started. 'You don't wake up one day and be like I'm going to have Kobe Bryant, Nate Robinson, Lawyer Milloy playing in my softball game, and Macklemore.'

"'He's a psycho like me,' Bryant said of Sherman. 'I think it's just mutual respect and I have a great amount of respect for people who work at their craft. When him and I met, we just talked and hit it off.'"

Of course that's nothing compared to the devotion of fans who created Build The Tip in honor of the Super Bowl-winning Seahawks team (via CBS Sports):

"Donate $12 and you get a rubber bracelet! $25 gets you a car decal, $48 gets you a pint glass, $76 gets you a tote bag, $112 gets you a limited edition t-shirt, $250 gets you an autographed football and so on and so forth until $10,000 finally gets you a giant replica of the statue."

With all this off-season activity one might wonder if Sherman has any free time. Well, according to TMZ apparently he was able to slip away and watch How To Train Your Dragon 2 in IMAX this year, hands down his favorite film of the year.
