Sony has announced the release date for the long awaited film version of the adventure game Uncharted. The announcement comes hot on the heels of the EC release of the Trailer for the new PS4 game, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Now the hunt is on for a leading man. Transformers 4 star Mark Wahlberg was originally up for the role of Nathan Drake but he left the project after director David O. Russell left the film. Fans have since been calling for Firefly and Castle star Nathan Fillion to take the role. Check the report below for the release date as well a trailer for the new game.
Sony’s Uncharted movie has finally gotten a release date. The new film, now directed by Seth Gordon, will be released on June 10, 2016.
After, the original director, David 0. Russell dropped out so did Mark Wahlberg. One fan favorite for the role of Nathan Drake is Castle and Firefly star Nathan Fillion.Back in 2011, Fillion spoke to Screen Rant about his conditions for the role:
“I am certainly still interested in playing Nathan Drake. I think every actor I know wants their action-adventure hero, their Indiana Jones. That would be a good one for me, I think. What I don’t want is people pressuring that poor man [The director at the time, Neil Burger] and souring him on the actual idea. If we could somehow just… do you remember the movie Inception? I think that’s what we need to do. We need to let him land on the idea on his own.”
