The Broadway production of "Romeo & Juliet" featuring Rachel Zegler and Kit Connor has been granted an additional four weeks of performances.

Originally scheduled to conclude in January 2025, the show has been extended with additional dates up to February 16.

Under the direction of Sam Gold and backed by Seaview Productions, the upcoming Shakespearean revival boasts a soundtrack by Grammy winner Jack Antonoff. Production will officially open on Thursday, October 24 but it's scheduled to kick off previews at Circle in the Square Theatre on September 26.

Seaview announced that the production broke the venue's previous on-sale ticket day record with an overwhelming surge in demand since sales started in May. The decision to extend the show was made in response to the remarkable level of advance interest, although specific sales figures have not been made public.

Announcing exciting news to fans, the official Instagram page of the show, @romeojulietnyc, revealed on Tuesday that the Broadway run will be extended for an additional four weeks.

"We're extending 4 weeks on Broadway - and you can get early access to new tickets via our fan newsletter. If you haven't already, sign up at link in bio."

A sneak peek video posted online has informed followers that early access to ticket sales will start on Wednesday, August 28, at 10 AM.

In April, Zegler and Connor sparked anticipation among fans for their upcoming show by sharing the letters R and J on their social media profiles.

Connor revealed the letter R, while Zegler unveiled the letter J, each accompanied by half of an addition sign symbolizing their collaboration.

Geotagging their posts with Verona, the setting of the Shakespearean tale, both individuals shared their excitement for the upcoming project.

A teaser was released in May, offering a new take on the classic play by placing the main actors in a contemporary suburban setting.
