Liza Minnelli is preparing to share her life story through a memoir.

The EGOT winner decided to publish a book detailing her life story, citing frustration with previous on-screen and movie portrayals that failed to capture her accurately.

Minnelli is the daughter of the actress Judy Garland and filmmaker Vincente Minnelli, and is among the only group of 25 entertainers who have achieved an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) award.

One of her most memorable roles was in the iconic "Cabaret" from 1972, followed by the TV concert film "Liza With A Z" and Martin Scorsese's "New York, New York," in 1977.

The 78-year-old actress-singer will provide readers with an intimate journey through her remarkable career, battles with addiction, and romantic escapades.

Minnelli Decides to Share Life Story

In an interview with People magazine, Minnelli confessed, "Since I was old enough to put pencil to paper, people asked me to write books about my career, my life, my loves, my family."

"Absolutely not. Tell it when I'm gone was my philosophy. So, why did I change my mind?"

Expressing her dissatisfaction, the "Maybe This Time" singer emphasized that the documentaries depicting her career failed to portray her true nature. According to her, these movies were created by individuals who lacked insight into her family background and personal life.

Minnelli said, "A sabotaged appearance at the Oscars, in front of billions of people ... a film with twisted half-truths ... a recent miniseries that just didn't get it right."

"All made by people who didn't know my family, and don't really know me. Finally, I was mad as hell! Over dinner one night, I decided, it's my own damn story ... I'm gonna share it with you because of all the love you've given me."

She is collaborating with a close friend, Grammy-nominated recording artist Michael Feinstein, whom she had known for four decades.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Colin Dickerman, senior VP and editor-in-chief at Grand Central, "From the moment she was born, people have been telling Liza's story."

"She is now, after a life of many dizzying triumphs and some terrifying lows, finally ready to tell it herself. Grand Central is absolutely thrilled to help bring this book into the world."
