Carol Leifer made headlines this morning for her appearance on Howard Stern. The legendary star will be getting "gay married," as she said, to girlfriend Lori Wolf. Leifer saved her wedding announcement to the end of her interview with the America's Got Talent's judge.
It's really no surprise that Carol would ask for Lori's hand in marriage, sort of. Leifer informed the shock jock that neither of the women proposed to the other...it was more a discussion that they've been having for years.
Many expected the pair, who has been together for the past 15 years to say "I do" sooner. After all, Carol's illustrious career is only rivaled by her sense of family, as Time reported back in 2009:
"When it comes to comedy careers, Carol Leifer has been there, done that. Besides being a popular stand-up comedian, Leifer, 52, is an Emmy-nominated writer and producer for work on shows like Seinfeld, Larry Sandersand Saturday Night Live. But it's her personal résumé that is the main focus of her entertaining new book, When You Lie About Your Age, the Terrorists Win (Villard). Leifer's notable relationship history has included two famous former boyfriends (comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Paul Reiser), one not-famous former husband, a female partner for the past 12 years (Lori Wolf) and one adopted 3-year-old son (Bruno)."
