New Joel Kinnaman RoboCop 2014 Remake Movie Release Date and Video Game Review

Get ready RoboCop fans. The 2014 remake movie, which stars Joel Kinnaman, has a quickly approaching release date. Also, a new RoboCop inspired video game was recently reviewed and didn't score very well.

On February 12, 2014, you will get a chance to check out RoboCop for yourself. In case you somehow missed the storyline the first time around, Sony Pictures Entertainment offers the following plot synopsis:

"In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years--and it's meant billions for OmniCorp's bottom line.

"Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman)--a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit--is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer..."

Even before the film has been released, critics have taken to bashing the upcoming flick.

Metro recently reviewed the new RoboCop: The Official Game, which was released on January 7 of this year. The publication only gave the game 3 out of 10 stars, and managed to take a swipe at the film too:

"Rebooted RoboCop is from a PG-13 film though, so all he does is hide behind concrete blocks waiting for his equally weedy guns to stop overheating. As a result you end up cowering out of sight, scanning the area with your left thumb and then when you've locked on to your targets holding down on the right side of the screen to pop up and shoot them."

What do you think about Metro's comments? Are you excited about the upcoming film? Do you agree with the video game review?
