Is ‘The Way’ Ariana Grande Retiring from Acting After ‘Sam and Cat’?

Ariana Grande is perhaps best known for her role in the hit Nickelodeon series Sam and Cat. According to new reports, Grande might be retiring from acting after the show ends. However, you shouldn’t count Grande’s acting career out just yet. The singer/actress has came out to deny the rumors...sort of.

Ariana Grande got her start in Broadway's 13, before moving on to her breakout role in Victorious. Grande currently stars in the Victorious spin-off series, Sam and Cat. However, that might be the end of her acting journey.

During her recent interview with Complex, Grande told the publication about how she got into acting:

"I never liked acting. I auditioned for TV just to get a platform to get a record deal, but then I fell in love with acting because it was fun."

Grande reportedly went on to imply that she would retire from acting after she finished with Sam and Cat:

"After I'm done playing Cat Valentine I don't see myself doing much acting. But I would like to do a scary movie, or a musical."

However, this is not what Grande meant. She later took to Twitter to clear up the retire rumors:

"apparently I'm ‘retiring from acting’ but that's not true. :) just thought I'd clear that up, definitely a rumor...moooorning loves"

Meanwhile, Grande can certainly fall back on her singing career. Grande has become one of the hottest and top selling artist. Grande’s soulful voice is often compared to Mariah Carey. Grande spoke with Neon LimeLight about her icon:

“I love Mariah Carey. She is literally my favorite human being on the planet. And of course Whitney [Houston] as well. As far as vocal influences go, Whitney and Mariah pretty much cover it. I love Fergie as well. She’s just so fun and passionate. I love that she raps as well. Like, she has a fantastic voice and she can belt Gs and As and she doesn’t have to do it all the time. She just has swag and I think that’s really cool.”
