As the live-action adaptation of "Wicked" approaches, anticipation is building with the release of a new promotional video and poster for the popular Broadway show.
The poster features co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo standing hand in hand, locked in a heartfelt gaze, with the enchanting landscapes of Oz and Shiz University in the background. Clad in their iconic costumes, both actresses aim to capture the essence of their characters.
Grande is dressed in a pink ensemble, portraying Galinda Upland, a character who transforms into Glinda the Good. Cynthia Erivo, meanwhile, wore a striking outfit as she embodies the character of Elphaba Thropp, a young woman with green skin who grapples with being misunderstood and ultimately transforms into the infamous Wicked Witch of the West.
In the recently released sneak peek clip, the leading duo, along with filmmaker Jon M. Chu and supporting actor Jonathan Bailey, discuss the connection between their characters and the importance of friendship.
Additionally, viewers are treated to glimpses of scenes from the eagerly awaited cinematic musical.

The 44-year-old filmmaker said, "'Wicked' to me, at its very core, is about friendship. And it starts with a really fun look at how these two young women were so different from each other, are forced to be roommates and don't get along at all."
"And so we have to learn about each other to get to know each other," Erivo added.
Grande also chimed in, "These two very different women just fall completely in love with each other. And that is mirrored experience of what happened with Cynthia and I."
Erivo said, "We just sort of... I got chills. We both just like found each other, I guess... We just got each other immediately."
Bailey said of the friendship between Grande and Erivo, "There's a wild sort of soul connection between the two of them that's such a complimenting chemistry, but they are so different."
