Los Angeles-based classical pianist, Klaudia Kudelko, releases her debut album, "TIME" on July 29, 2022

A debut album is the symbol of authenticity in an artist's life. It serves as an accolade to a journey that often requires a labour of love so gruelling and so isolating, that accolades themselves become second nature. Klaudia Kudelko is no exception. Just reading about her exceptional career would make you believe she has lived a life much longer than  in actuality.

"TIME" is a 12-track LP which comprises works by three composers integral to Kudelko's musical identity: Franz Schubert, Frederic Chopin, and Grażyna Bacewicz. The one-hour and nine-minute album serves as a reminder of the breathtaking lyricism inspired by the giants of XXth century pianists. With Klaudia's delivery and artistic lens, she creates a modern approach to classical music by honouring its tradition and finding her own voice.

"Time can also change the way we interpret these pieces, but what never changes is their relevance," says Kudełko about the album title. "Despite the differences in each composer's musical language, style, and even century, there is one common thread: throughout time, humans have been asking ourselves the same existential questions that I feel are reflected in these specific compositions. Chopin's "Revolutionary" Etude was written while Warsaw was being bombarded by Russia, and Bacewicz's 'Sonata,' composed post-World War II, is still painfully relevant today among the numerous global conflicts. Schubert was acutely aware of the little time he had left, and wanted to leave a musical legacy which encapsulated everything unspoken."

Klaudia's millennial perspective lends to the very great works interpreted in TIME via artistic inspiration in various forms. Prior to releasing the LP, Klaudia shared three singles and two accompanying music videos for Chopin - Etude, Op 10: No. 12 in C Minor "Revolutionary," Schubert - Moment Musical Op. 94 No. 3, and Chopin - Polonaise-Fantaisie Op. 61. If left without any room for interpretation, the listener has nowhere to go with their imagination, and Klaudia stays committed to creating this space in her visual delivery.

"I looked to Scriabin's idea of 'omni-art' - a unification of music, vision, and drama - an idea which is close to my heart, and which inspired me to interpret Schubert's Moments Musical No. 3 in collaboration with the Grand Theater National Opera & Polish National Ballet in Warsaw," she says. "I asked the dancers to share their perspective of this piece through their artistic medium - movement - and I invited them to dance around the piano while I played. It became a true artistic synthesis rather than two separate entities. The video we made for the "Revolutionary" Etude by Chopin was conceptualized with a red colour scheme symbolizing revolution, drama, and all the fiery emotions that one associates with the colour red."

If one thing is certain, it is clear that Klaudia Kudelko is a rising star in the classical realm, and without a doubt, a powerhouse in the scene. Flaunt Magazine dubbed Klaudia as "arguably one of the best (pianists) of modern day." , she was also described by Classic FM as a "young classical star".
