Andrea Bocelli Offers Expert Guidance to Latin Grammys Best New Artist

Renowned opera singer Andrea Bocelli is offering the artistic artistic opportunity of a lifetime to the winner of the Best New Artist award at this year's Latin Grammy Awards. The famous performer has vowed to personally tutor the winner of the award once announced at the ceremony later this year.

Prior to the 17th annual Latin Grammy Awards on Nov. 17, Bocelli is working closely with Gabriel Abaroa, president and CEO of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, in putting his musical apprenticeship plan into place.

As reported by Billboard magazine, the forthcoming Latin Grammy Best New Artist victor will also have the chance to perform at Italy's Ischia Global Film & Music Festival in 2017 thanks to Bocelli's expert musical guidance.

Following last year's release of Andrea Bocelli's movie-themed album, Cinema, he told Billboard of his devotion in mentoring the upcoming winner:

"I think it is a valuable opportunity, for a young artist, the possibility to show one's own talent especially when this happens outside the boundaries of one's home country, in contact with a potential new market. I have always tried, within the limits of my possibilities, to support my young colleagues; I consider it a necessary gesture, useful and important for the sake of art."

Bocelli has always been of a philanthropic mind. As we previously reported in our exclusive Andrea Bocelli interview with Classicalite's Logan K. Young, the singer founded his Andrea Bocelli Foundation in 2011 with the aim of fighting poverty, enabling scientific research and helping disadvantaged children:

"Every smile and every hope returned -- above all, when it comes to children -- is a priceless goal. As I always say, solidarity is the only response to inequality. This belief has led me to create the Andrea Bocelli Foundation."

Now, as Andrea Bocelli once so elegantly sang with soprano Sarah Brightman, it's "Time to Say Goodbye."
