Luke Wilson Dating Girlfriend Meg Simpson after Split; Owen Cast in ‘Bastards’?

It looks like Luke Wilson and longtime girlfriend, Meg Simpson, are having a hard time letting go after 6-years of dating. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Old School star and his 35-year-old ex recently met up one last time to hash things out, despite officially seeming to split 9 months ago. In a lighter story, Luke's blonder and arguable funnier brother, Owen, has reportedly been cast alongside Hangover vet, Ed Helms in a movie about trying to find their long lost father, Bastards.

It would seem that after all the time they've spent together, Meg Simpson need more than 9-months to come to terms with her breaking up with 43-year-old comedian, Luke Wilson.

Despite a very public split last year, one source in the latest August 3, issue of Star magazine explains that the pair never really figured out how to completely sever all ties:

"They never lost touch, mainly because they will always love each other.

"It's been hard on both of them."

According to the informant, knowing that she had accidently sank their relationship has plagued Meg, but in the end, Luke explained that it was time for them to move on, instead of wondering about who was at fault for what:

"She gave him an ultimatum but backfired.

"In the end, Luke was worried that she'd continue to pressure him, and he's just not ready for that kind of commitment...It was so hard for Meg to hear."

While Luke has been working on getting over a breakup, his brother Owen, has apparently been working hard to get his career back on tract.

Once again choosing to leave Vince Vaughn by the wayside, the Wedding Crasher's star is said to be staring in two separate big vehicle comedies with two separate Hangover superstars.

Already fit for consumption is Owen's new heist comedy with Zack Galifianakis and Kristen Wiig, Masterminds, which Entertainment.ie describes as sort of a Dumb & Dumber meets The Italian Job:

"Jared Hess of Napoleon Dynamite fame is in the director's chair for this one, and the action comedy tells the story of the heist of a lifetime.

"Based on true events... Of course, everyone in the movie looks like a total raving idiot, so hilarity should ensue."

Word has it that Wilson will also soon be teaming up with former Galifianakis co-star Ed Helms, in a new comedy from Alcon and Montecito Picture Company entitled, Bastards.

The new movie, reports Stack, will follow the duo in the role of brothers as they try to find out where their story really begins:

"The plot involves two brothers whose mother's wild past included affairs with many famous men during the 1970's, the heyday of the legendary nightclub Studio 54.

"When they learn that their biological father is still alive, the duo sets out on a road trip in search of him."

It sounds like at least Owen Wilson's professional life will be back on tract soon enough, even if it might take his brother a little bit longer to get his personal affairs in the same sort of shape.
