Efforts are underway to locate a missing Broadway actor from Columbia who requires medication.
The Richland County Sheriff's Department officially announced the disappearance of Zelig Williams.
Williams was last seen at his residence on Longwood Road on October 3. The sheriff's department was notified about his disappearance by a worried family member on October 4.
The exact circumstances of Williams' disappearance are currently unknown.
However, the sheriff's department reported that Williams' abandoned car was discovered near Congaree National Park, approximately 12 miles from his residence.
According to the department's report, Williams has not maintained contact with his family and loved ones since his last sighting, which is unusual for him.
The report states that Williams has health concerns that require medical attention and prescribed medication. Specific details about his condition have not been disclosed.
Williams holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in commercial dance from Pace University, specializing in choreography.
He has performed in several Broadway productions, including "Hamilton" in 2016 and "MJ The Musical" in 2022, where he played several roles. Williams also performed as a vocalist and dancer on Hugh Jackman's tour.
Williams is known in his community for organizing Broadway boot camps to empower and inspire young individuals.
Williams' cousin, Mieoki Corbett Jacobs, said, "He was just an amazing young man. I know he did Southern Strut, I believe from 6th grade on. He was a Dreher High School graduate, shared his knowledge of Broadway with students here. He was looking forward to coming home to share that."
