Xbox One EA Access Update: Download ‘Madden NFL 25,’ ‘FIFA 14,’ ‘Battlefield 4’ and ‘Peggle 2’ Without Xbox Live Gold Account Membership [PRICE] [STREAMING]

EA recently announced its game streaming service, EA Access for the Xbox One. The service allows user to stream and or download select EA Vault titles, starting with Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4 and Peggle 2, for the low price of $4.99 a month, or $29.99 a year. More titles will be added to the Vault later, but none will be taken away. Subscribers will also have early access to new EA games like Madden NFL 15, FIFA 15, NHL 15, NBA Live 15, and Dragon Age: Inquisition. To make things better you don’t have to have a Xbox Live Gold account to access, EA Access. Sony Playstation 4 however, passed on the service.

It has now been announced that EA Access will available for anyone who subscribes, with or without a Xbox Live account. A rep from EA has recently released a statement about the feature (via IGN):

"When it launches, any Xbox One gamer can join EA Access and take advantage of the benefits of membership. In order to connect to multiplayer gameplay on the Xbox One platform you will need a subscription to Xbox Gold."

However, Playstation users are not out of luck. Sony refused to allow the service on the Playstation 4. Game Informer recently spoke to a rep from Sony

“We evaluated the EA Access subscription offering and decided that it does not bring the kind of value PlayStation customers have come to expect,” a Sony representative told us via email. “PlayStation Plus memberships are up more than 200% since the launch of PlayStation 4, which shows that gamers are looking for memberships that offer a multitude of services, across various devices, for one low price. We don’t think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value to the PlayStation gamer.”

What do you think of the new service? Do you think it is worth it? Do you think that Playstation missed the mark on this one? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
